Muña Creative Collective

was born from a deep calling to color outside the lines and empower freedom of expression and wellbeing for all.

About the artist

In December of 1993 a mother and her two young daughters wandered about the "lost city" of Machu Picchu. With her husband off somewhere guiding tourists she had her 5 year old daughter lead their exploration.

Her playful curiosity led the group to follow a series of water channels from the temple of three windows down the hill towards the temple of the sun. They  took a rest under a thatched roof sitting area, but only for a moment. The young daughter was on her feet again when a lizard peaked up from behind a window.

She climbed  over some stones and through the window to get a closer look. The mother and 2 year old daughter were on her tail climbing after her. On the other side was a large boulder where the little ones walked around and the tired mama took the opportunity to lay down under the warm sun.

A few breaths passed and what felt like three buzzing bees moving in a circle were felt in her womb. Fairly certain she had climbed into the center of the temple of the sun, they continued on their exploration and found her husband. The potent energy that pulsated through the stone and temple caused the little explorer to throw up right after.

As for the buzzing womb experience, less than three months later Erika was unexpectedly conceived!

Erika came to this Earth with a purpose. One that pulls her forward with every twist and turn while embracing the bigger picture of life; to enjoy the beauty, grace, and awe of it all. .

Since early childhood healers, energy, and our relationship with the earth was always present. Her family on her dad's side is from Cusco in the Andes Mountains of Peru. Since 3 years old she bounced around sacred sites of the region while her dad shared teachings on these topics.

After these extended visits they'd all return to her mother's home state of Vermont where Erika was born and raised with her two older sisters. Her mother and grandparents that lived nearby reaffirmed a deep connection with nature and creative hobbies of drawing, sewing, cooking, and admiring Vermont beauty.

After graduating from the University of Vermont and moving to New York City, Erika knew the traditional life of employment for another company wouldn't last long. An ongoing quest for an alternative way to live abundantly and be free to choose her schedule led Erika into entrepreneurship. Her first business started as a desire for a creative outlet while working in hospitality.

She launched herself into floral design without any formal training and started Blooming New York. Erika quickly learned the basic technique and made complementary arrangements to practice. She freelanced for design studios and learned on the go. Her study of floral design and love for working with natural elements weaves into her current artwork and offerings.

Floral design was a stepping stone and piece of the larger puzzle. After the pandemic began, the opportunity to explore new ideas presented itself. With multiple months furloughed she invested into business programs and learned about manifestation and intuition for the first time. Every day that summer she'd go twice a day to lay in Central Park, listen to these programs, and brainstorm what this new creation would be.

Starting a business is the best way to hyper speed personal growth. It was time for healing support beyond what traditional therapy was offering. The world of alternative healing modalities, spiritual practices, and connecting with the spirit realm resonated deeply. Through this exploration she began to remember truths about her soul, it's past journey and the one she is on now.

Erika's exploration advanced quickly. Within a few months she was on her way to Costa Rica to participate in a 4 week program living with a shaman and learning about the shamanic path.

Over the past years Erika discovered and continued to study her gifts as a healer, a channel, and artist.

Muña Creative Collective has evolved many times and will continue to do so. No matter what path she explores, Erika always finds herself rooting back into her central mission to be in harmony with nature, reimagine what's possible and activate healing for all.
